What is a gift card?
A gift card is a voucher with value issued by our club that you can use during its availability period to pay in full or partially for memberships, services or products at Area Gym. You can use the gift card online or at the reception desk. A gift card can be purchased only online and used to buy memberships, services or products only at Area Gym.
How to buy a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased online, and the payment is made using a bank card through the online payment processor we partner with. Area Gym does not save any information about the bank card you use to pay for the gift card.

Why do I need a member account to purchase a gift card?
You must create a member account on our platform if you don't have one. For each online payment, we must issue an invoice with your information. Your personal data will be used for this invoice. Don't worry. We won't use this information for anything else unless you tell us to.
Can I buy a gift card for myself?
Of course! You can fill in any email address in the sender box, including your own. Don't forget to leave yourself a cute message, though. Then, after you pay for that gift card, you'll receive an email with the information about the gift card you purchased.
Do I have to send the gift card to the email address my friend used to create their member account?
No. You can fill in any valid email address. Your friend will receive a unique code that must be added to their member account to activate the credit. If your friend doesn't already have a member account at Area Gym, they can create one and then activate the credit. Just make sure the email address you fill in is correct.
How to send a gift card?
After you have filled in your friend's information and finalised the online payment, that friend will receive an email with a unique code. Then, they must activate the gift card in their member account by filling in that code in the designated section.
Is a gift card transferable?
Yes. The code we send through email can be activated in any member account at Area Gym. However, remember that once the code is activated, it cannot be used in another member account, and the credit can't be transferred to another member.
How to use a gift card when buying memberships or services online?
Once you select the membership or the services you want to purchase, in the configuration step, where you select the start date, you can apply the credit you received through one or more gift cards. After you apply the credit you want, the total amount that must be paid will be decreased with the value of the credit you applied. Suppose you want to pay for a membership or service in full. In that case, you will not be redirected to the online payment processor, and the service will be activated immediately.
How to use a gift card at the reception desk?
After you activate a gift card in your member account, that credit is also applicable when you purchase a membership, service or product at the reception desk. Simply ask one of our colleagues to apply that credit when making a purchase.
Do I have to use the entire credit of a gift card for one purchase?
No. You can use a gift card partially. The difference will remain available in your member account to be used later before it expires.
Can I cumulate two or more gift cards?
Yes. You can use more than one gift card for a purchase online or at the reception desk. If you are left with a difference, that amount will remain in your member account. The remaining amount will be the one with the largest availability period.
How much time do I have to use a gift card?
Each gift card has its own availability period, which starts when you receive the gift card in your inbox, NOT when it was activated in your member account. In your member account, you can check the expiration date for the credit provided by each of your gift cards.
How can I find out how much credit I have left?
You can check your credit status, when it expires, and your entire usage history in your member account.
I did not receive my gift card. What should I do?
A gift card is sent to an email address filled in in the configuration step f the purchase process. Don't forget to check the JUNK/SMAP folder of your email account. If the email address is incorrect, the person who purchased the gift card should contact our reception desk.
I want to return an item or receive a refund for a service I purchased with a gift card. Will I get back the value of the gift card?
If you return a product you have purchased partially or in full with a gift card or if you are eligible for a refund for a service you have bought with a gift card, You will receive a new gift card with the value you used on that purchase. You will also receive the amount of money you paid, if applicable.
I added a gift card for an online purchase, but the online payment didn't go through. Can I still use that gift card?
If you tried to pay for a membership or service with a gift card, and the online payment was not processed, that membership or service is registered as unpaid. You can retry the online payment to activate it, or you can cancel it. If you cancel that membership or service, you will receive a new gift card with the amount you used initially
